SUMMARY:Strengthening Clinical Processes: Relationally Grounded Care and Indigenous Cultural Safety for Agency Counsellors (Emerging Practices)
DESCRIPTION:Join us for a meaningful conversation with Len Pierre (Len Pierre Consulting) and Azadeh Miley\, RCC\, ACS\, as they explore emerging processes in decolonizing clinical applications in agency and organizational settings. \nAzadeh and Len have worked together to examine practices within the Health Authority\, exploring how agencies can address colonial frameworks embedded in clinical processes. Drawing from this work they’ll share insights on navigating the challenges and opportunities that may arise when intention meets implementation. \nThis session will offer both Indigenous and clinical agency-based perspectives on creating culturally safer\, and more relationally grounded care. \nThe session is designed intentionally\, as a non-judgmental space where you can reflect where colonial frameworks may appear in your clinical counselling processes. It’s also a way to celebrate and share the strides you’re already making toward a more culturally informed practice. \nThrough guided discussion and a focused breakout session\, you can examine an aspect of your own processes with an emphasis on learning\, hope\, and removing shame or fear around “getting it wrong.” This is an opportunity to lead with curiosity\, validate the good work already happening\, and begin an honest conversation about reconciliation in clinical settings. \nLearn More & Register

SUMMARY:Practice Labs: Supervision of Supervision
DESCRIPTION:Supervision of supervision is a reflective space where supervisors examine their own supervision practice\, receiving feedback and support. This process helps supervisors clarify their model for supervision\, refine their interventions\, understand how their values and identities shape their work with supervisees and deepen their inner wisdom. \nRegular Supervision of Supervision practice strengthens supervisory confidence\, deepens ethical awareness\, and ultimately improves the quality of supervision offered to others. \nThese three online practice labs invite experienced supervisors and consultants to deepen their capacity to supervise supervision itself\, using a relational\, reflective frame illustrated in part through the seven-eyed model of supervision. Across the series\, participants will bring real supervision dilemmas and questions\, work collaboratively with peers\, and receive feedback on their supervisory style\, interventions\, and use of self in the supervisory relationship. \nEach session is highly experiential and requires that participants are already providing clinical supervision to others. \nThrough practice\, case discussions\, and focused reflection\, the group will explore how both our practice and selves show up in Supervision of Supervision work\, and how these factors shape both process and outcomes. \nIt is expected that you will be able to show up live and actively participate for all three sessions to get your certificate of attendance.

SUMMARY:From War to Resettlement: Refugee Stories\, Insights\, and Practice Guidelines
DESCRIPTION:What does it mean to be a refugee? \nWhat are the experiences of living through war\, fleeing violence\, and resettling in a faraway country where you must learn to live an unfamiliar way of life? \nIn this interactive half-day presentation\, Dr. Zuhra Teja will take you on a refugee’s journey—from pre-flight to flight to resettlement. \nDrawing on global human rights standards\, she will ground participants in ethical and research-informed service-delivery through a trauma-informed and rights-based lens.  Through stories from her clinical work with torture survivors\, her work in conflict and post-conflict societies\, her family’s lived experience of migration across four continents\, and her research with adolescent refugees\, we will hear the voices of refugees and war-affected families.  \nAlong the way\, she will offer questions for self-reflection and collaborative consultation: What are our accurate and inaccurate assumptions about refugees from diverse cultural contexts?  How do we preserve the therapeutic relationship while working with interpreters?  And how do we foster emotional safety\, dignity\, resilience\, and hope? \nRegister Now\n
