About Elysia

Finding support for invisible illness and chronic pain.

Living with an invisible illness doesn’t mean you have to feel invisible. As someone who personally navigates chronic pain and illness, I understand what it’s like to push through each day while managing fatigue, brain fog, and physical discomfort. It can feel overwhelming, like the life you long for is out of reach. If you’ve been trying to tackle these challenges alone, it might be time to seek support from someone who truly gets it. As I specialize in chronic pain, trauma, and complex health conditions like ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, and long COVID.

I jump in to help individuals manage the complexities of chronic illness and trauma. Through online therapy, I provide you with coping strategies and personalized support, making it accessible no matter where you are. Booking is simple and convenient—you can take the first step anytime through my website.

My approach:
My therapeutic style is shaped by both my lived experience and over a decade of professional training. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with specialized expertise in Trauma Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Trauma-Focused CBT. I also hold certification in The Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) which is a music-based biofeedback intervention designed to help regulate the nervous system and reduce symptoms. Additionally, I actively engage in training with BC Pain and am an active board member of The Canadian Pain Society.

I work with clients of all ages, from children (5+) to adults, addressing a wide range of mental health concerns. Over the years, I’ve honed my focus on the interplay between chronic pain and trauma. Research shows that early-life stressors and trauma can deeply affect the nervous system, leading to chronic conditions later in life. By addressing both physical and emotional pain, we can work together to calm your body’s stress response, build resilience, and reclaim your life.

What to expect:
Starting therapy can feel vulnerable, and it’s natural to feel nervous about opening up. To ease the process, I’ve shared parts of my own journey with trauma and chronic illness on my website and YouTube channel. These resources can help you get a sense of my style and approach before we even meet.

In sessions, I create a compassionate, nonjudgmental space where you can share openly. I’ll help you process your experiences, teach practical skills to manage pain and stress, and support you in building a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling—even with the challenges of illness.

Let’s work together!
If this resonates with you, I’d be honored to support you. Through online therapy, we’ll work to manage your symptoms, improve your mental well-being, and help you adapt to the realities of living with chronic illness. You don’t have to navigate this alone—relief and connection are just a few clicks away.
