About Rainbow
Hi, my name is Rainbow.
I’m so glad you found your way here. No matter where you are today, I hope you find the support you’re looking for.
Many of my clients are adults who grew up with emotionally unavailable parents. In these homes, love often felt conditional, and emotional needs were quietly dismissed. Now as adults, they continue to carry invisible burdens: self-doubt, a harsh inner critic, or a sense of disconnection in their relationships.
Having immigrated to Canada at a young age, I’ve experienced what it’s like to grow up between two worlds – holding my parents’ hopes and expectations while navigating a culture they didn’t always understand. And then came the quiet shame of feeling like I wasn’t enough, even though my pain didn’t seem to have a place.
For as long as I can remember, I’ve been deeply attuned to the emotions of those around me, sensing the unspoken feelings beneath words, tone, and silences. I once saw my sensitivity as a weakness. Over the years, as I learned to lean into it, I found that my sensitivity allows me to lean into others with presence, depth, and compassion. Becoming a counsellor wasn’t so much a decision as it was a calling – a way of aligning with what has always felt most true in me.
My approach to counselling is gentle and trauma-informed. I often draw from Emotion-Focused Therapy, Internal Family Systems, and Mentalization-Based Treatment. In our work together, we can revisit past experiences that have felt painful to hold. We’ll notice what’s happening internally, including your thoughts, emotions, and bodily responses, and how these patterns show up in your relationships. I will support you as you gently reconnect with the parts of yourself that have felt wounded, lost, or unwanted. My hope is to create a steady, safe space where all parts of you are welcome. I’m committed to walking alongside you as you find deeper safety within yourself and your relationships.
Outside of the counselling room, I enjoy nature and the quiet companionship of my dogs. They often remind me of the power of presence, and how gentleness and warmth can be deeply healing.
If any of this resonates with you, I would love to connect and see if this might be the kind of support you’re looking for. I offer counselling in English, Mandarin, and Cantonese, and you’re welcome to speak in the language(s) that feel most natural to you.
