Satir Group Supervision

6 Tuesdays March 3 to April 7, 2026
9:30 am to 11:30 am PACIFIC TIME
Held Online Via Zoom

Satir Group Supervision

With Jennifer Nagel, MA, RCC-ACS

This 6-session supervision program will assist counselors and clinicians to focus on the therapeutic process rather than the content of the clients’ presenting problems. Counselors/therapists will present a case presentation for a deeper understanding of how to create and facilitate systemic and transformational changes.

Each 2-hour session will provide time for 2 counselors, one per hour, to present their chosen cases. Each counselor will provide 2 cases over the course of the 6 sessions. Each counselor will offer a brief overview of their case with program provided supervision questions. Jennifer will guide and facilitate the counselors through a supervision process to bring about new possibilities, new awareness and increased clarity when working with clients.

Healing the Space Between: Relational Work with Couples and Families

6 days of training from April to June 2026
2:30 pm to 8:00 pm Pacific Time
Online via Zoom

Healing the Space Between: Relational Work with Couples and Families

With Kate Gomboc, MA, CCC, Assisted by Jennifer Nagel, MA, RCC-ACS

Healing the Space Between is an experiential professional development program designed for helping professionals seeking greater confidence and effectiveness in couples and family work. Grounded in systemic and relational practice, this six-day online course offers a structured yet flexible approach to working with the “space between” people—where meaning, connection, and change emerge.

Participants will develop practical skills for working with both moderate and high-acuity couples and families, including assessment of relational patterns, use of Satir’s coping stances, and discerning when to listen, interrupt, reframe, or teach skills. The program explores change focus and change meaning techniques, immediacy, reframing with attention to nobility and impact, rituals for connection, decoding language through the Personal Iceberg, and supporting relapse recovery.

Through experiential learning, discussion, and skills practice, participants strengthen their ability to target growth areas within systems, facilitate honest conversations, and anchor both themselves and their clients in internal resources. Emphasis is placed on shifting therapeutic focus from pathology to possibility while increasing clarity, confidence, and clinical presence.

This program is open to counsellors, therapists, and professionals in the helping fields who are interested in deepening relational dialogue and supporting meaningful, sustainable change in couples and families. Sponsored by the Satir Institute of the Pacific

Introduction to Virginia Satir’s Model

With Mary Leslie, MSW and Wendy Lum, MA, RCC-ACT, RMFT-S

This experiential professional development program offers counsellors, therapists, and allied mental health professionals an introduction to the core beliefs and therapeutic approach of Virginia Satir. Delivered over two day, the workshop emphasizes therapeutic presence, deep listening, and observational skill-building through live demonstration, dyads, reflective exercises, and facilitated group dialogue.

Participants will explore Satir’s use of metaphor as a means of fostering connection and reframing experience, including a live demonstration of the Personal Iceberg Metaphor to illustrate how internal experience shapes behaviour and relational patterns. The Five Essential Elements of Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy (STST) are introduced to support clinical understanding and guide therapeutic process. The workshop also includes an experiential exploration of coping stances and sculpting, supported by demonstration, paired practice, and group discussion to deepen insight and integration.

Throughout the program, participants are invited to reflect on how the material can be integrated into both professional and personal practice.

Open to clinicians, allied health professionals, and students in at least their second year of social work or psychology programs. No prior experience with the Satir Model is required.

Clinical Management of Alcohol Use in the Context of Trauma Focused Therapies

Join Bespoke Mental Health Canada for a workshop delivered by Dr. Debra Kaysen
Friday February 6, 2026
8:00 am – 3:30 pm (PT), 11:00 pm – 6:30 pm (ET)

To register for this event, click here

Can’t attend on that date? The “On-Demand” video is available 2 weeks after the live event.

PTSD and alcohol use disorders (AUDs) are frequently comorbid and represent a major public health concern. There are poorer AUD treatment outcomes when comorbid PTSD is untreated, including higher alcohol relapse and use. This workshop will review the research regarding the use of trauma-focused CBTs to address PTSD/AUD, then describe ways to address alcohol use in the context of providing a trauma-focused CBT. We will discuss ways to assess and monitor drinking, when not to provide trauma focused CBT, and strategies clinicians can use to help clients manage their drinking over the course of treatment.

Bespoke Mental Health Canada is approved by the Canadian Psychological Association to offer continuing education for psychologists. Bespoke Mental Health Canada maintains responsibility for the program.

Participants completing this workshop, live or on-demand, are eligible to receive 6 CE credits.
