About Maureen
Accepting new clients as of May 1 2025
I’ve been a family and individual counsellor for 17 years, and have provided clinical supervision to agencies and counsellors for 12 years. I’ve trained in both the US and Canada in evidence-based and relational/experiential models of therapy including CBT, ACT, Satir Transformational Systemic Therapy and Emotion Focused Family Therapy (EFFT). More recently I’ve come to specialize in working with adults with ADHD, as well as parents, caregivers (foster parents) of children, teens, and young adults with ADHD who feel “stuck” and experience unique challenges with work, school, and relationships.
People who work with me experience relief from anxiety and depression. They achieve growth and find healing after difficult losses or traumatic events. I support people to find the courage they need to overcome obstacles, make difficult life decisions, and choose more productive paths for themselves. I support people to identify inner strengths and resources as they work to reclaim their lives from stress, chaos, and negative ways of thinking.
I strive to create a safe, supportive atmosphere that allows people to open up about their private pain, their fears, and their doubts. I’m committed to helping people transform intense feelings of anger, frustration, helplessness, powerlessness and sadness into more life-affirming experiences of themselves and their lives.
I’ve supported thousands of people to adopt healthier ways of dealing with problems, conflict, addiction, or ongoing adversity (chronic illness, separation and divorce, job loss or change, death in the family, mental illness).
My fees are $150 per 50 min session. Clients facing barriers to service due to race, gender, income, disability, or other challenges may negotiate a lower fee. Clients may request receipts to obtain extended health plan coverage for fees. Online and phone appointments only at this time.
