The RCC designation, accounting for more than 90% of all Clinical Counsellors/Psychotherapists, is the de facto standard for clinical counselling/psychotherapy in British Columbia.
BCACC is committed to upholding the value and established trust enshrined in the RCC designation.
The BCACC has successfully championed for the regulation of the profession of clinical counselling/psychotherapy under British Columbia’s Health Professions Act (HPA).
Regulation of the profession will start on November 29, 2027 under the Health Professions and Occupations Act (HPOA). After this date, all complaints against clinical counsellors/psychotherapists licensed by the College of Health and Care Professionals of BC, will be directed to that regulatory College and not to the BCACC.
How we protect the public
Complaint Investigations
We take action when standards are not met. The complaint process is an important part of ensuring quality and accountability in the provision of clinical counselling /psychotherapy services in British Columbia.
RCC Register
The RCC register can be used to verify whether an individual is currently registered with the BCACC, whether an RCC has a consent agreement in place or other undertakings as a result of a disciplinary hearing. The data contained in the RCC register is dynamic and is updated in real-time.
Public Notifications
