About Shannon

Shannon Paton is a Registered Clinical Counsellor located in Vancouver. She received her BA in Psychology from the University of Alberta in Edmonton, where she grew up, before completing her Master of Counselling Psychology at Adler University.

Shannon has been in the mental health and helping field for over 7 years supporting children, youth, young adults, families, and adult individuals. What she loves most about her role is deeply connecting with her clients in a way that allows you to learn more about yourself and your relationships. A key component in her relationship with clients is ensuring you feel seen and heard, as well as safe to express your authentic self and explore your inner world in a purposeful way that allows for change.

She focuses addressing concerns such as anxiety, depression, grief and loss, parenting, ADHD/ADD (adult and youth), interpersonal and relationship challenges, trauma, and career exploration. She uses her training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Expressive Play Therapy, Emotion Focused Family Therapy, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy to create an individualized plan tailored to you.

In her downtime, she enjoys getting out into nature, practicing yoga, playing soccer and volleyball, snowboarding to survive the West Coast winters, and playing with and training her puppy.

Shannon will take care of direct-billing to First Nations Health Authority (FNHA), ICBC, Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), Sun Life and Blue Cross.
