BCACC members drive meaningful change in mental health across BC. These awards honour their exceptional work—advancing care, leadership, and advocacy in our profession.

Distinguished Lifetime Contributions to Clinical Counselling and Psychotherapy

BCACC’s highest award is presented to Registered Clinical Counsellors (RCCs) and recently retired RCCs who have made a memorable and significant impact on the profession of clinical counselling and psychotherapy throughout their careers. One recipient per year.

BCACC Impact Award for Mental Health Organizations

This award recognizes agencies, associations, and community programs that provide outstanding mental health programming, improving accessibility to mental health services. Organizations may nominate themselves or be nominated by an employee or other individual. One recipient per year.

Volunteer Award

This award recognizes an Association member who has actively contributed through service, management, or by promoting the goals of the BCACC through volunteer work. Up to three recipients per year.

Clinical Supervisor Award

This award recognizes the contributions of an RCC-ACS to the discipline of Clinical Supervision. Applicants must hold the RCC-ACS designation (not provisional). Up to three recipients per year.

Distinguished Professional Contributions to Applied Research

Recognizes an RCC who is currently, or in the past five years, engaged in an applied research project that has the potential to significantly advance the profession of psychotherapy in BC and across Canada. Up to two recipients per year.

Excellence in Practice Award

This award recognizes private practitioners who have made a significant contribution to the community through their work.  This work can include an individual’s private practice work with a specific population, or excellence in work as a group private practice. Up to three recipients per year.

Student of the Year Award

This award recognizes a BCACC student member for the contributions their work has made to community well-being. Up to three recipients per year.

Honorary Awards

The BCACC Honorary Awards recognize individuals and organizations whose exceptional contributions have significantly impacted mental health.

Honorary Membership Award (BCACC Awarded)

This award honors a community member or stakeholder who has made a significant contribution to the field of mental health. BCACC presents this award to individuals, whether or not they are part of the clinical counselling or psychotherapy profession, whose work has had a measurable impact on the sector and has meaningfully improved mental health for British Columbians. One recipient per year.

Humanitarian Award (BCACC Awarded)

This award recognizes an individual or organization whose professional work meaningfully contributes to humanitarian efforts in the mental health sector. While not a social justice award, it honors those who have made a tangible impact by addressing critical mental health gaps at the provincial, national, or international level. One recipient per year.
