About Jennifer

My goal is to help my client’s understand themselves in a compassionate way, while finding alternatives to unhelpful patterns. Using a hope-based approach, I collaborate with clients to find their inner strength and resilience, because by playing to strengths and inner resources, rather than weaknesses, we are more likely to change.

I believe that all of our actions are a desire to meet inner needs and I ask clients to rework pain causing narratives about themselves and the world that do not serve them, so that they can be gentler with themselves. By exploring our hopes and desires we can fill our lives with meaning and purpose.

I have been counselling since 2012, working with individuals, couples and families. Most of my work has been with individuals with a history of abuse or early childhood trauma. I use EMDR and Cognitive Processing Therapy to help clients overcome trauma, and narrative and cognitive therapy to help clients overcome emotional distress.

We all have the ability to heal within us. When we channel this, we can thrive.
