About Julia
Hello there! My name is Julia. I hold a BA in Psychology from UBC as well as a Master of Counselling Psychology degree from Athabasca University. With 10 years in the mental health field, I am experienced in helping individuals and families address a variety of challenges such as anxiety, depression, stress, trauma, transitions and change, and identity and personal growth, among others.
I like to think of the counselling process as a shared journey. I feel privileged to be invited to join my clients on their unique and adventurous travels towards meaningful change. Coming from a client-centred, strengths-based, culturally-sensitive approach, I envision clients as the captains of these journeys, trusting their wisdom, experience, and intuition. I am not afraid to join them in the darkest hours of the trip, invest fully into helping them navigate the maps, and am there to celebrate the joys along the way.
I welcome clients of all ages, cultural backgrounds, identities, and walks of life into my practice. I often combine a variety therapeutic approaches such as Narrative, Cognitive-Behavioural, Acceptance-Commitment, and Solution-Focused therapies in order to provide comprehensive, well-rounded care, and remain open to drawing from other theories to suit the needs and personalities of my clients.
