About Karina

The first step is always the hardest one to take, so thank you for being so brave. It?s okay to feel awkward or guarded, the relationship shared between a client and counsellor is built on mutual trust, and sometimes that can take a little bit of time to build ? so take counselling at a pace that feels right for you! Talking to someone about emotions you have only ever felt or spoken to yourself about can be hard to voice out loud and explain, and that?s okay. I welcome your questions, opinions or creativity in our sessions. My hope and goal is to make sure that you are receiving the best support!

Coming from a multicultural background, I have experience working with a diverse range of clients including children, adolescents and adults that stem from various backgrounds and cultures. I worked as a counselling intern at Moving Forward Family Services with adults coping with anxiety, trauma, depression, PTSD, ADHD, and many other presenting concerns. I have experience working at the Vancouver Aquarium, where I had the opportunity to work with home schooled children who were coping with Autism, ADHD and learning disabilities. I also completed an internship at the West Bergen Mental Health Care Center in New Jersey where I was trained and then worked with children, from ages 4-12, who were diagnosed with autism and were coping with anxiety.
