About Samantha
Sam is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (17634) and holds a Masters Degree in Clinical Counselling. She is also a member in good standing with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellor.
For the past 12 years, she has worked in a variety of supportive roles with individuals identifying as neurodivergent, including counselling, education, behaviour intervention, transition planning, life skills support, career counselling, job coaching, and social justice advocacy. She is eclectic in her practice, but foundationally practices Family Therapy and System-Based approaches, which includes Feminist Narrative Therapy. She also practices Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness, Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and Somatic techniques as the need arise. She is a passionate advocate for agency and choice, with the hope of supporting individuals in shaping their future and living a life full of meaning.
Individuals, couples, and families come to Sam often self-identify or have a diagnosis of ADHD/ADD, a learning disability, ASD, Asperger, Cerebral Palsy, Down Syndrome, or another developmental/cognitive/intellectual disability. As well, many family members or supports for individuals who identify with the above seek counselling at AsUR Counselling.
