About Tajinder
Tajinder Sangara is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC), and a B.C. certified teacher. She holds a Master of Counselling Psychology degree from City University of Seattle, Canada, as well as, a Bachelor of Education degree from University of British Columbia. Through her own personal experience, she understands many life challenges, and the difficulty in accessing support. Tajinder is a caring and compassionate counsellor who provides genuine, empathetic, and non-judgmental counselling service within a safe, comfortable environment for clients to share their personal stories. She inspires hope, and empowerment in her clients through working collaboratively, highlighting their inner strengths, resilience and resources to overcome personal issues and achieve their full potential.
Tajinder has been guided by her life calling to help others, and to make a difference in their lives. She utilizes a depth of experience from working with children, youth and adults as a childcare provider, educator, crisis counsellor, intern counsellor, and a private practice counsellor. Tajinder brings her passion for developing healthy individuals, families, and groups. She treats clients with respect and dignity, while considering their unique multicultural and diverse backgrounds. She believes that the client is the expert of their life, and supports them to create a plan that meets their personal needs. She uses a holistic approach with clients to help them develop a healthy and balanced mind, body and spirit.
In order to create a meaningful and effective therapeutic process for clients, Tajinder integrates strengths-based Client-Centred approach, Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based therapies, somatic body -based therapy and clinical hypnosis. She is able to provide individual, couples, group, and family counselling. The range of concerns that Tajinder treats include stress, anxiety, depression, anger, interpersonal relationships and violation, self-identity, grief and loss, life transitions, career decisions, and substance use among others. Tajinder speaks fluent English and Punjabi.
