About Yuka

Hi! My name is Yuka (She/Her), and I am glad that you are here.

I am a neurodivergent Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors, a person of colour, and a third culture individual with lived experience navigating neurodivergence. I hold a Master of Counselling degree from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Law and Society. I am currently pursuing a Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy degree to further my education, deepen my expertise, and contribute to neurodiversity research and practice.

I specialize in supporting autistic, ADHD, and AuDHD adults, as well as those navigating anxiety, depression, burnout, grief, multicultural concerns, school or career challenges, and stress. I offer virtual counselling for neurodivergent and neurotypical adults across Canada, integrating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy to provide compassionate, evidence-based care.

My personal journey, including undergoing brain surgery and navigating mental health challenges, has fueled my passion for clinical counselling and holistic well-being, encompassing both mind and body. Born in Japan, raised in Singapore, and now living in Canada, I bring a multicultural perspective that honours the intersection of culture, identity, and lived experience in every session.

As an AuDHD individual, I understand the importance of feeling heard, understood, and accepted. I prioritize creating a neuro-affirming and inclusive space for individuals at any stage of their neurodivergent journey, whether you have received a formal diagnosis, suspect you may be neurodivergent, or are navigating life after one.

If you feel ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out for a free 15-minute consultation. I look forward to connecting with you!
