Excellence in client care
Through compassionate, client-centered work in practicum or volunteer counselling settings, the student builds strong therapeutic relationships and adapts their approach to meet diverse client needs.
Commitment to ethical practice
The student upholds high ethical standards in all aspects of their work, demonstrates a solid understanding of ethical principles, and seeks supervision appropriately when faced with complex decisions.
Impact on client well-being
The student’s work positively influences client outcomes, as observed through client progress, supervisor feedback, or contributions to a safe and supportive therapeutic environment.
Dedication to professional development
The student actively seeks opportunities to deepen their learning by participating in training, workshops, research, or professional association events beyond academic requirements.
Contribution to the counselling profession and community
The student contributes meaningfully to the field through leadership in student or community mental health initiatives, advocacy, peer mentorship, or research that enhances counselling practice.
