About Sarah

I have a private practice in Chilliwack, offering individual and family counselling services for youth and adults. Specializing in healthy emotional regulation, coping with anxiety, post partum challenges, parenting support, youth with Asperger’s/high functioning Autism, disordered eating and body image issues, challenging perfectionism, helping youth navigate challenges and healing family dysfunction.

I view Counselling as a collaboration between myself and my clients, whereby I meet clients where they are at and utilize their strengths to support them in moving forward. By using a variety of counselling modalities such as CBT, DBT-informed, Emotionally Focused Family Therapy, Mindfulness and Self-compassion, and other strength based and experiential therapies, my aim is to empower clients with healthy coping skills, the ability to regulate their emotions in effective ways, and specifically to build self-efficacy and a strong sense of self-worth.

I have over two decades experience working with youth and families as a youth worker, teacher, outdoor educator and clinical counsellor. I hold a Master’s Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of British Columbia and Bachelors of Education and Arts Degrees from Queen’s University.

My hope is to help clients develop self-compassion and learn healthy coping and emotional regulation skills in order for them to realize their potential and work towards wellness.
