About Ruta

Now accepting new clients online. I specialize in helping adults navigate the debilitating fear, anxiety, and emotional distress associated with substance use addiction, anxiety, cancer, depression, grief, trauma and PTSD. Grounded in evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), my work is client-centered and strengths-focused. I support clients with regulating emotions, and creating changes that feel sustainable and authentic. If you’re facing a life transition, coping with loss, dealing with a cancer diagnosis or needing to dissolve the patterns that keep you feeling stuck, therapy can provide space for clarity, emotional processing, and deeper connection with yourself and those around you.

My counselling approach is individualized to meet each client’s unique needs. Using an integrative framework, I support clients in reconnecting with themselves, accessing internal strengths, and creating new, sustainable ways of being. I work with adults and have experience supporting people of diverse backgrounds, genders, and sexual identities. I am also a provider for First Nations Health Authority.

Finding the right match with a therapist is an important step in your journey. I offer a free 15-minute phone consultation so you can get a sense of my approach and see if we feel a connection. I believe in every client’s ability to heal and grow, and I look forward to supporting you toward a more vibrant, fulfilling life.
