About Brittany
Counselling can be a life changing process, one that some of us put off for many years. Whether counselling is something that has been on your mind for a while, or it is a crisis situation that brings you in, I look forward to meeting you and walking with you on your journey.
I strive to create a safe, attuned, and supportive therapeutic environment. I also hold a strong belief that the past is present and that events that happened to us in our earlier life influence and shape who we are today. In my work, I use a wide array of interventions, and I often draw upon experiential, expressive and creative modalities. I have received specialized training in trauma and dissociation and am certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Observed and Experiential Integration (OEI), and Sensorimotor Psychotherapy.
I graduated from Trinity Western University, where I received a Bachelor degree in Psychology, as well as a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology. I am also a Registered Clinical Counsellor with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors. I work with men, women, children, youth, and families in areas of anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-esteem, relational difficulties, trauma, dissociation, personality disorders, posttraumatic stress disorder (PTSD), and attachment related issues. Although I find it rewarding working with clients from diverse backgrounds, I have also received specialized training working with men who have experienced complex trauma.
To continue my education and learning, I am actively participating in relevant trainings, keeping up to date on current research, and attending lectures and annual conferences. I am also a member of the International Society for the Study of Trauma and Dissociation (ISSTD).
It brings great meaning to my life to walk alongside my clients and to witness their growth and resiliency, to support them in their times of struggle, and celebrate in their times of strength. I count myself fortunate to participate in the journey of self-discovery, growth, and healing with my clients and am honored to be a part of the process.
