About Samantha
Samantha works with a variety of clients, including individuals who feel stuck or overwhelmed in their lives. She helps them develop healthier ways of experiencing and coping with their emotions. The individuals she serves often have difficulties in effectively setting boundaries and communicating in their relationships. Many have experienced past childhood neglect/abuse or family of origin issues. These clients often want to explore and resolve their past issues in order to move forward in their lives. Samantha enjoys working with individuals that have a desire to increase their self awareness and who want to explore their unconscious selves.
Samantha has a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Victoria and Master of Arts degree in counselling psychology from Yorkville University. She has completed specialized training in cognitive behavioural therapy, EMDR, sex therapy, trauma informed stabilization treatment, nature assisted therapy, and Jungian counselling. Samantha uses an eclectic approach to counselling and draws from many different therapies in order to best serve each client’s needs.
Samantha has been in a long term relationship with her husband for over 14 years. Being in a long term relationship has helped her develop personal insight into the dynamics and issues that can occur in romantic and sexual relationships.
Samantha offers counselling sessions in an office setting but is also able to take these sessions outside into the natural world. More information about this service is available on her website. If you are interested in beginning your counselling journey, Samantha would be happy to help support you. Feel free to email her or contact her by phone.
