About John (Scott)
With over 20 years of experience in mental health and substance use treatment, I consider it an honor and privilege to be a part of people’s journey towards wellness and, perhaps more importantly, self-compassion. I utilize, and appreciate the value of a wide variety of counselling modalities, including Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and, more recently a Trauma-informed Internal Family Systems (IFS) approach to help clients explore potentially self limiting beliefs/personal stories, and live authentically and with intention in their lives. I believe that an important component of personal well-being is learning to set boundaries that protect us from the unwanted behaviors of others, while also freeing us to enjoy more of what we love in life. I am fortunate to live, work and play in the beautiful North Okanagan valley and I encourage my clients to connect with and grow in nature as much as possible!
