About Jane
Life can be hard. Sometimes we face challenges or adversities that disrupt what we know and leave us feeling lost with what to do.
When folks choose me as their counsellor, they are often seeking something different; a new experience. Many are facing challenges or wanting something to change in their lives. Perhaps this sounds like you but you are not sure where to start.
I practice from a trauma-informed, person-centred approach, where I will seek to understand your world as you have made sense of it. I will meet you with a non-judgemental and compassionate stance; one that is genuine and central to building a trusting relationship.
I work with youth and adults, offering both individual and group counselling, and I specialize in intergenerational and complex traumas, addictions, and managing difficult emotions. I also have experience working with stress and anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and personal growth and development.
I maintain a large toolbox, from which I can pull an assortment of evidence-based strategies, to suit your unique needs. Sometimes an opportunity to be heard in a non-traditional setting is just what is needed and I embrace nature as a valuable contributor to the therapeutic process. With me, in-person counselling sessions take place on a private, rustic, 10-acre property, where we may partner with the land, as a means of grounding you to both your inner and outer world.
I have a master’s degree in Counselling Psychology and a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of British Columbia and have been working consistently within the social services and helping professions for 20+ years.
In working with me, you will know you are supported, listened to, cared for, and that you are not alone. At my core is dependability, kindness, authenticity, and congruency; values that come through in my work and will assist us in developing a genuine partnership that can support you in moving toward your personal goals.
