About Erin
Erin is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with an undergraduate degree in Psychology, and a Masters degree in Counselling Psychology (MACP). She offers individual and couples therapy. She has specialized training in a variety of modalities such as CBT, DBT, attachment theory, Internal Family Systems, Exposure therapy for anxiety/panic disorder/phobias and EMDR therapy. In her couples therapy, she uses an Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) approach combined with tools taken from the Gottman Method. Erin takes a down-to-earth, empathetic, inclusive, and non-judgmental approach to counselling.
Erin is also registered to provide counselling through: CVAP (BC Crime Victim Assistance Program), First Nations Health Authority, and ICBC.
Having dealt with her own struggles with anxiety in the past she understands the vulnerability involved with sitting “in the other chair”. She believes that incorporating warmth (and even occasional humour) into the work can make the process much more comfortable for her clients.
Erin values ongoing professional development and is committed to continued training in evidence-based therapies. In addition to her Master’s degree, Erin has completed training in:
