About Yassie

You don’t have to figure out life’s challenges alone – you deserve to have your pain witnessed. It is my goal for you feel truly heard, supported, and empowered to grow in the ways that matter most to you. Together we’ll build a strong relationship and untangle the parts of you that feel stuck, so that you can make the best choices and changes for your life. We’ll explore a range of possibilities to help ease your suffering now and into the future.

Whatever uncertainty, change, pain, or opportunity you are experiencing – I am prepared to listen deeply with compassion, curiosity, and care. My approach is trauma-informed, bringing together mind and body based therapy. I believe our bodies hold deep knowledge for us when we listen to them and learn from them.

Although the lived experience of our pain is so unique to us as individuals, forces within our environment and systemic oppression can influence our struggles in the world. I believe that bringing this into awareness in therapy can allow us to build more self-acceptance and a more empowered understanding of our experiences, our suffering, and our path towards healing.

I value your experiences based on culture, race, Indigeneity, socioeconomic status, sexuality, gender identity, age, disability, and spirituality. As a trauma-informed and anti-oppressive therapist, I am curious about your experiences and how you have coped and adapted. I aim to understand mental health through a lens that appreciates how social, environmental, cultural, political, and economic factors influence us.

I offer individual counselling with adults. I have experience working with people who may be experiencing issues related to:
