Dr. Nilsana (Registered Clinical Counselor RCC) hold a PhD in clinical & child development psychology with over 15 years’ work experience to provide mental evaluations and solution-oriented counseling addressing a variety of clients with concerns mood disorders such as depression, anxiety, postpartum depression, OCD, eating disorders, sleep disorders, suicide think and self-injury, relationship and family issues, grief and loss, domestic violence, sexual assault, adjustment disorders for new immigrants and post-traumatic stress disorder PTSD. she supports and reduce the emotional impact on children, birth parents/family, adoptive parents, and foster families/out-of-care providers when there is a plan for a child to move. Mana specializes in treating adults and teens who have a range of challenges related to emotion regulation. She offers stress management, social & interpersonal skills, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy CBT, Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing EMDR, hypnosis, mindfulness and integrative therapy. Nilsana providing the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) is an evidence-based listening therapy designed to reduce sound sensitivities and improve auditory processing, behavioral state regulation, and social engagement behaviors through filtered music. As a practical application of Polyvagal Theory, the SSP acts as a non-invasive, acoustic vagal nerve stimulator, helping to re-tune the nervous system to better support connection, collaboration and resilience. The SSP involves listening to specially filtered music through headphones alongside a provider, in-person
or remotely. Suitable for children and adults, the SSP has demonstrated benefits for individuals with trauma, anxiety, sensory processing differences and more.
