About Harriet
Harriet Hird MACP, BSW, RCC
Harriet Hird is from the Ulkatcho First Nation. She was born and raised in Williams Lake, BC. She graduated from Yorkville University in August ,2021 with her Master’s in Arts and Counselling Psychology and in 2013 from UNBC with a Bachelor of Social work with a Child Welfare Specialization and Indigenous specialization. She is registered with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors.
Harriet is intuitive, caring, and authentic. Harriet practices from a trauma informed approach.
Harriet brings knowledge and life experience’s from working in various roles in the community of Williams Lake to include Victim Services, Aboriginal Patient Navigator, Community Social Worker and Mental Health and Substance use Counselling and treatment Clinician.
Harriet’s focus is a strength based, and she practices from a Solution Focused Approach. Harriet goal as a counsellor is to offer a safe place to build a relationship that allows adults to feel empowered in their healing journeys.
