About Lisa

Many of the people who reach out to me are thoughtful, capable individuals who feel overwhelmed by the mental load of daily life. You may find yourself constantly pushing to keep up, wondering why routines that once worked no longer do, or questioning why things seem to feel harder than they do for others.

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with a clinical background in Occupational Therapy, offering counselling for adults, parents, and youth navigating anxiety, emotional overwhelm, life transitions, and neurodivergence.

A large part of my work involves supporting women and parents who feel stretched thin by competing responsibilities. Many of my clients begin therapy wondering whether ADHD or another form of neurodivergence may help explain long-standing patterns of overwhelm, burnout, or difficulty sustaining systems that once seemed manageable. These patterns often become more visible during demanding life stages such as becoming a parent or during hormonal transitions like perimenopause.

I have experience working with neurodivergent children, teens, and adults. My approach is strength-based and grounded in reducing shame. Rather than focusing on what is “wrong,” our work centres on understanding how your brain, nervous system, and environment interact, and how we can build supports that work with your natural ways of thinking, processing, and responding to the world.

My background in occupational therapy shapes how I approach counselling. Alongside exploring emotions and relationships, we often look at how nervous system regulation, sensory processing, executive functioning demands, hormonal shifts, and environmental pressures influence your daily capacity and wellbeing.

I also support parents who want to better understand and advocate for their neurodivergent children. Many parents come to counselling feeling confused or unsure how best to support their child’s emotional regulation, sensory needs, or behaviour. Together we work toward practical strategies that support both the child and the broader family system.

Clients often describe therapy as a space where they can slow down, make sense of their experiences, and begin building supports that fit their real lives. My approach is collaborative, compassionate, and practical, helping clients move toward greater self-understanding, reduced self-criticism, and more sustainable ways of living.
