About Danielle
Danielle holds a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology (MACP) from Yorkville University and is a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC).
Danielle supports individual clients with concerns about anxiety, depression, stress, sleep difficulties, relationship challenges, life transitions (i.e., work, university / college), student challenges and burnout, body image, self-esteem, as well as eating disorders / disordered eating.
Prior to becoming a therapist, Danielle worked in human resources and completed both a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and a Master of Management at the University of British Columbia. Danielle understands how workplace protocols, structure, and culture operate within workplaces but also understands how these systems affect employees with managing work tasks, stress, and boundaries between work and home. She is also adept at helping clients recognize their strengths and limitations as a worker and what types of careers would meet those needs. Because of her unique background, she is well situated to work with university students and workers who are experiencing challenges in the workplace, questioning their career choices, and wondering what the next steps are when considering a career change or picking a career.
Danielle views therapy as a collaboration between herself and the client, where the goals of the client are driving the direction of therapy by focusing on what is most important to them. Her role as the therapist is to validate her clients experiences while supporting and empowering clients to recognize their own strengths, increase their awareness, and enhance their ability to cope and manage the different challenges people can experience in their lives. She uses a variety of therapy modalities that include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Therapy, Emotion Focused Therapy, and other evidence-based interventions that are tailored to the needs of each client. Danielle builds strong therapeutic relationships through her warmth, empathy, and focusing on the things she values and appreciates about each client while working with them towards their goals.
As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, she is committed to adapting her approach to each clients’ specific issues, needs and goals, while collaborating and supporting them in their unique journey. She offers free 20 minute consultations, please book here https://lifechiro.janeapp.com/#/staff_member/44
