About Yuka

My name is Yuka (She/Her), and I am glad you are here! I hold a Master of Counselling degree from Monash University and a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of British Columbia, with a Major in Psychology and a Minor in Law and Society. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the British Columbia Association of Clinical Counsellors and am currently pursuing my Doctor of Counselling and Psychotherapy degree.

Specializing in areas such as Anxiety, ADHD, Autism, Burnout/Fatigue, Coping Skills, Depression, Grief/Loss Multicultural Concerns, School/Career, and Stress Management, I offer personalized support tailored to meet your specific needs. I provide counselling services to both neurodivergent and neurotypical adults virtually. My personal journey, including undergoing brain surgery and navigating mental health challenges, has fueled my passion for clinical counselling and holistic well-being, encompassing both the mind and body. Born in Japan, raised in Singapore, and now living in Canada, I bring a multicultural perspective to my practice.

As a neurodivergent individual, I know the importance of feeling heard, understood, and accepted. I prioritize creating a neuro-affirming space for individuals at any stage of their neurodivergent journey, whether you have received a formal diagnosis, suspect you may be neurodivergent or are navigating a diagnosis, including ADHD and/or Autism.

Drawing from diverse therapeutic modalities, including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Mindfulness-Based Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy, I tailor our sessions to align with your unique needs and goals. I honor diversity by adopting a collaborative, empathic, and eclectic approach to my practice, honouring the uniqueness of each individual’s experience.

If you feel ready to take the next step, I invite you to reach out. I am accepting new clients and offer free consultations. I look forward to connecting with you!
