About Dawn
My ideal clients are: 1) people in bigger/fat bodies who are breaking up with diet culture, 2) those interested in support around eating disorders, self-worth, and self-compassion, and 3) counsellors & therapists. Many of my clients are looking for ways to come home to their body, are struggling with eating disorders, or want to examine their relationship to boundaries & pleasure. Clients often reach out because I practice from a Health at Every Size(R)/anti-diet framework. Couples seek me out because I offer a gentle, playful, skilled container for strengthening and/or repairing their relationship. Therapists appreciate my experience & ability to hold nuance.
I specialize in relationships, trauma, body shame, breaking up with diet culture, & pleasure. am a Certified Body Trust Provider and trained in IFS, EMDR, EFT, and somatic modalities. My approach is weight inclusive, anti-diet, trauma informed, and fat positive. I work with individuals and couples (poly, queer, LGBTQIA2S affirming).
If you are struggling to find non-stigmatizing mental health care because you’re in a bigger body or if you could use support from someone who is warm, compassionate, & experienced, I would love to connect. I am honored to join my clients on their journey towards healing. I hold space & hope for healing for my clients. You do not have to do this work alone.
I practice from a feminist, queer, anti-colonial, anti-oppressive perspective.
I primarily see clients online, however I do see clients in-person in Langley, BC on Sundays.
