About Meghan
Reaching out for support is a courageous and brave step, and I commend you for being here. I believe that a strong therapeutic relationship built on trust can lead to recovery, balance, and restorative healing.
I am Meghan Stewart, a Registered Clinical Counsellor and certified teacher based in North Vancouver, offering services to families, individuals, and children from diverse backgrounds, genders, sexual orientations, cultures and identities. I am committed to feminist, antiracist principles and am an ally to the 2SLGBTQI+ community.
It is my honour and privilege to provide a safe, authentic, and non-judgmental space for you to share your story. I acknowledge and have deep gratitude and respect to practice on the unceded territories of the Coast Salish nations.
Inspired by my own personal experience of living with a congenital heart condition, I researched and wrote a thesis on early childhood medical trauma and effective therapeutic techniques for those facing chronic or childhood illnesses. This background informs my understanding of the complexity of each unique experience with trauma. Through this research, I discovered the importance of early childhood intervention and strong family attachments.
As a mother of four adults, I cherish time spent in nature and enjoy teaching writing, practicing yoga, and swimming in the ocean year-round. My 27 years of advocacy for children and youth in schools have shaped my approach to supporting children and their families in their relationships. I hold a BC teaching certificate, a BA in Education and Psychology, and a Masters in School Counselling, and I am registered with the British Columbia Registered Clinical Counsellors (registration #24269). Presently, I am continuing my training in play therapy and keep a portion of my client load open for children who are neurodiverse, experiencing medical challenges or changing families.
Through my own lived experiences and training, I have build a client-centered, strengths-based approach and collaborate with clients to help them achieve their mental, emotional, and spiritual potential. I prioritize equity and intend to create a safe space for each person to process and integrate their sessions. My areas of focus include:
Play Therapy for Children

Medical Trauma
Early Childhood Attachment
