Andrea holds a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work and a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology. Since 2013, she has gathered extensive experience in both the non-profit and health sectors, working with individuals, families, and groups to address a wide array of challenges.
Her professional philosophy is rooted in the belief that each person is the expert of their own experiences. Andrea is dedicated to creating a safe, non-judgmental environment where individuals can explore their authentic selves and embark on their healing journeys. She understands that the therapeutic process is a collaborative one, and she strives to foster trust and openness in her relationships with clients. This commitment to a person-centered approach has allowed her to appreciate the unique narratives of those she works with.
Andrea adopts an integrated approach to therapy, drawing on various modalities to best meet the needs of her clients. Her particular interests include trauma, mental health, substance use, relational conflict, and life transitions. She believes in tailoring her interventions to align with each individual’s goals and experiences, which enables people to navigate their challenges more effectively.
In addition to her extensive experience, Andrea is trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Therapy, a powerful technique for addressing trauma and distressing memories. She also draws from a range of therapeutic techniques including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Response-Based Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness and Emotionally Focused Therapy.
