About Megan
My therapeutic approach is compassionate, authentic, and non-judgmental. I emphasize the importance of the therapeutic relationship, fostering an environment of trust and collaboration. Utilizing best practices from Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), as well as mindfulness, self-compassion, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) techniques, I tailor my treatment plans for each client. Additionally, I have training in hypnosis and psychedelic assisted therapy. My therapy style is practical, guiding clients toward meaningful, lasting changes that enhance their confidence and empowerment.
I offer individual psychotherapy to adults dealing with a diverse array of issues, including (but not limited to):
– Anxiety (such as health anxiety, generalized anxiety, social anxiety, panic attacks, phobias, and more)
– Difficulties with emotion regulation, self-criticism, and self-esteem
– Depression, self-harm, and obsessions and compulsions (including trichotillomania and excoriation)
– Stressful personal or work-related situations, or clients looking just for a space to speak freely
– Trauma
Training
I’ve supported clients through personalized therapy for the past 7-years. In addition to earning my Masters in Counselling degree in 2019, I have a PhD in Counselling Psychology through McGill University.
I have completed my doctoral residency at UBC Counselling Services, where I supported university students with a variety of mental health difficulties. Additionally, I have experience in settings focused on moderate to severe mental health issues, including a hospital CBT Unit in Montreal, community mental health facilities, and rehabilitation centers.
I am available for both short-term and long-term therapy in both the Port Moody and Vancouver clinic. I welcome and work with all genders, ethnicities, sexual orientations, and relationship styles. I invite interested clients to contact me through email for both online and in-person sessions.
