About Leah
I am a registered clinical counsellor in the South Okanagan, offering in-person counselling services to children, youth, and adults in Penticton and Summerland. I utilize a multifaceted framework to understand the many factors that contribute to a person’s holistic health and wellness. I believe that the therapeutic experience is as unique as the individuals who seek it, and that therapy should be tailored to an individual’s unique needs and preferences.
I have worked in healthcare since 2006 and have experienced the transformative value of relationships that are empathetic and genuine, which I believe is foundational to effective therapy. I strive to create a therapeutic space where clients feel respected, heard, and understood, and where feelings and experiences can be explored in a safe, non-judgmental setting. Whether you’re experiencing anxiety, depression, grief, relationship issues, behavioural challenges, or seeking deeper self-understanding, therapy can offer a supportive space to gain new insights, develop adaptive coping skills, and foster increased self-awareness that can lead to a more authentic and empowered life.
My therapeutic approach is rooted in Humanistic and Existential theories and incorporates somatic awareness and mindfulness-based strategies. I have taken additional training to work effectively with first responders and healthcare workers, children, couples, and families. I am formally trained in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, Synergetic Play Therapy, Emotion-Focused Family Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, and the Gottman Method.
I offer online or telephone appointments for clients anywhere in BC and in-person appointments in Penticton and Summerland. If you are interested in connecting, I offer a no-fee phone consultation to new clients.
