About BCACC
Founded in 1988, the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) is BC’s largest mental health professional association, representing 90% of clinical counsellors and psychotherapists in the province. We connect British Columbians to qualified mental health care, advocate for better mental health services, and bring mental health education to the public.
With 10,000+ members strong—including 9,500+ Registered Clinical Counsellors actively practicing from Vancouver to rural communities—we deliver accessible mental health care where British Columbians live.
Each year, 125,000 people visit our Find a Counsellor directory, representing 125,000 moments when someone in BC took a critical step toward getting support. Our members carry the Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) designation, demonstrating they’ve met rigorous academic and clinical standards and voluntarily committed to practicing according to our ethical code of conduct.
Through public education initiatives, government advocacy, and participation on advisory councils we advance mental health awareness and expand access to care across the province.
With 1,000+ student members in training, we’re building BC’s future mental health workforce to meet growing demand for services.
