About Amanda

I have been working in the mental health field for about a decade, and I have experience facilitating recovery groups, advocacy work focused on increasing accessibility of therapy services, and providing crisis support for those at their most distressed. I have a passion for working with families and couples and navigating the isolating and complex corners of life together, such as grief/loss, traumas, relationship stress, anxiety/depression, eating disorders, and ADHD.

I provide services for teens, adults, and couples, and I believe in tailoring therapeutic methods to meet your unique needs. My counselling approach is with a trauma-informed and a humanistic lens: you are the expert of your experiences, but you are also not alone. I help clients by encouraging their autonomy and building resilience to reach their goals and fulfillment, healing, and emotional wellness. My counselling theory and interventions are grounded in emotion-focused, relational, and attachment theories. The skills and education explored in session are founded in evidence-based studies in the counselling and psychology fields.

My availability is online and in-person sessions in Vancouver and PortMoody. I provide a free initial consultation prior to booking our first session – reach out and let’s see if we’re a fit.
