About Anne-Marie

Hi!
I am a registered clinical counsellor who graduated with a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology from UBC. I have experience working with a variety of populations with a variety of clinical concerns including: anxiety, depression, chronic pain, injuries, trauma, life transitions, identity, navigating interpersonal relationships, and academic and athletic performance. I use an integrative approach in order to best meet the unique needs of each of my clients. This approach is trauma-informed and primarily consists of Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Emotionally-Focussed Therapy, and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and I often will use a neurobiological lens when appropriate given my background in neuroscience (this means that I incorporate neuroscience-informed education and techniques).
I am passionate about helping my clients process their experiences, recognize their own strengths and resiliency, build awareness of patterns of stuckness, tap into their disposition towards growth and change, and cultivate skills that can help to move them towards the changes they aspire to make.
As a former high-performance athlete who has undergone a life-changing injury leaving me with chronic pain, I also bring a personal understanding of the powerful relationship between our physical health and mental health, and the multi-leveled challenges that can come with major life transitions.
My personal philosophy includes an acknowledgement that struggling and suffering are a part of the human experience, but that doors leading to vital living can still open even after others have closed.
Feel free to reach out, I’m happy to answer any questions you may have!
