About Bailey
I work with kids, teens, and adults — in person in Vancouver and online across BC.
My practice is neurodiversity-affirming and 2SLGBTQIA+-affirming. Before training as a counsellor, I spent years in schools: as a classroom and resource teacher, managing IEPs, and teaching in both elelemtary and secondary classrooms. That’s still the lens I work through — I understand how school systems actually function, and I see a child’s life as one thing that happens across home and school, not two separate files.
My approach draws on person-centred, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused work, along with CBT where it’s useful, always adjusted to how someone actually communicates rather than a script I run regardless of who’s in front of me. Most of the real change happens between sessions, in the small things you try when I’m not there, so we build those into the work rather than treating the session itself as the whole thing.
Sessions built around what actually works for a particular child, youth or person— through art, play, through talking, or just being alongside them. Caregivers stay in the loop without sessions turning into a transcript.
Person-centred, trauma-informed, and attachment-focused work, adjusted to how you actually communicate rather than a fixed script everyone goes through.
My role is not to fix anyone. People already have what they need — mine is to help find it. For children and youth especially, that usually looks less like a technique and more like feeling seen, having some real say in what happens to them, and knowing someone is actually paying attention.
What Guides Me:
I work alongside you as a partner, and your needs and goals guide our sessions.
Social justice, community connection, and allyship are at the heart of my practice.
I honour who you are, and I support your right to make your own choices and live freely.
My aim is for you to feel heard and for your values to shape the work we do together.
