About Charlaine
Our team offers online and in-person informed trauma counselling in Victoria and Abbotsford. We appreciate the courage it takes to attend counselling. We are humbled to witness individuals move through the healing process and develop positive self-worth, confidence, and self-esteem. My experience includes 30 years of working with trauma survivors with complex and diverse issues. I have served children, youth, adults and families. I also serve veterans, RCMP, Military, adults with a history of complex trauma, and more. As a Certified EMDR therapist, my expertise includes working with RCMP, first responders, Veterans, Military, Coast Guard, and their spouses. I support health care professionals and those with a lifetime history of trauma.
As an EMDRIA therapist and Approved Consultant, I enjoy consulting those who have a desire to develop and strengthen their EMDR skills. You may use your consultation hours towards certification.
My team and I are passionate about providing effective therapy, so you may heal from disturbing events. Experiencing traumatic events often causes a person to experience symptoms that affect their ability to function well in life. We aim to help individuals understand the route of symptoms, maladaptive patterns, and to reduce levels of emotional disturbance. Our goal is for you to gain awareness of unhealthy patterns and strengthen your capacity to function effectively. Our priority is to provide a safe, non-judgmental, and compassionate environment so you feel comfortable moving through the healing process. As you learn more about yourself and develop coping skills, you will feel more confident in managing life’s challenges. We aim for you to realize your true potential, empowering you to embrace your resilient qualities.
Our team and I use evidence-based treatment. We apply EMDR therapy in our practice. EMDR is one of the most researched psychotherapies. We are also trained in trauma therapy, CBT, DBT, attachment theory, and mindfulness techniques. We aim to develop a treatment plan, with clients, that meet their unique needs. We believe it is an honour and a privilege to help individuals heal from – PTSD, high anxiety, depression, grief and loss, self-harming behaviours, and other issues.
My 35+ years of experience as a wife of an RCMP member and raising a family enables me to understand how the life of a police officer impacts members, spouses, and their families. I understand how Operational Stress Injury (OSI) develops and its effect on a person’s well-being. My training and experience inform my ability to guide you through your healing journey.
Indigenous, First Nations, Metis – Since 1995, I have been fortunate to receive teachings from elders and community members from Cree, Sto:lo and Metis communities. These teachings were humbling and inform my work with those who survived residential school abuse and intergenerational trauma.
A respectful therapeutic relationship is essential. My associate, intern, and I believe our clients can heal. We aim to provide a person-centered approach and honour your privacy and integrity. You may contact our office to book an appointment. We look forward to hearing from you. website: www.charlainerobinson.com and
