About Cynthia

In her work, Cynthia gently supports clients to explore and heal from a wide range of concerns, including chronic stress, panic and anxiety, depression, codependence, trauma, addictions, grief, and a range of other ways people experience struggle and feeling out of balance or in discord with their lives or values. Cynthia also works with the family members of people with mental illness and individuals who are not fulfilled in relationships or are grieving the end of relationships.

Basing her work from a biopsychosocial perspective, Cynthia integrates a wide range of theories and approaches that consider our minds, bodies, and relationships as all influences to our healing. Having been an Art Therapist and Counsellor for nearly 3 decades, Cynthia’s skills and ‘toolkit’ include a wide range of tried and tested options, and her work with people is highly individualized and collaborative.

There are several therapeutic tools that Cynthia sometimes incorporates into her work, such as Neurofeedback, the Safe and Sound Protocol (acoustic vagus nerve stimulation) and Heart-rate Variability Training. These options work with the nervous system to improve psychological and emotional balance, vagal tone, and manage stress. These options are available in rentals for home use as well as (normally) in house provision.

During the Covid-19 public health crisis, Cynthia is offering secure online or phone sessions, and she has temporarily reduced her regular fee for ongoing clients as a means of supporting those in her community who are suffering, and also offers a new ‘check in’ session option for people who prefer more frequent contact.
