About Danielle
Welcome. My name is Danielle.
Many different things can bring us to a page like this in search of a therapist. With so many options, it can be overwhelming trying to figure out who might be the “right” person to help us.
Maybe you’re feeling stuck. Maybe you’re feeling unhappy or lonely or anxious.
Maybe something feels unmanageable and a voice inside you is saying, “This is too much… There has to be another way.”
Whatever brought you here, whoever you choose as your therapist, here is what I most want you to know: Healing, growth, and recovery are possible.
Some people picture therapy as a room where we poke at wounds and sit with pain, but this is not the only thing therapy is or can be.
Therapy can sometimes stir up difficult experiences, this is true. It can also stir up richness, perspective, beauty, and laughter. It can be a conduit for connection and clarity, for discovery and rediscovery. It can create an opening back to our own inner wisdom.
As a therapist, I work hard to make therapy a place where we can find meaning, purpose, agency, and joy. Therapy with me is collaborative, person-centered, nonjudgmental, and trauma-informed. In the therapy room, I strive to balance the practical with the experiential: Sometimes we might focus on learning new skills, and other times, we might focus on attending to deeper pain that might need our attention and processing, too.
What we work on together is based on your needs, preferences, hopes, and goals.
I have experience helping people with anxiety, depression, boundaries, communication, assertiveness, grief and loss, relationship problems, and family conflict. I also have experience with specialized concerns including eating disorders and related challenges; coercive control and narcissistic abuse; and navigating complex systems (e.g., health care).
Before I was a therapist, I worked in several high-intensity environments including victim services, crisis intervention, and front line/emergency response.
I’m known for my big laugh, sense of humour, and warm presence. During my spare time, I enjoy hiking, gardening, playing soccer, and spending time with loved ones.
I offer services in-person (in Langley, BC) and virtually. I also plan to launch walk-and-talk sessions at some point in the future. If you are curious about working together, I’d love to arrange a free 15-minute phone call so that I can learn a little bit about you and your hopes for therapy.
With respect, I acknowledge that my life and work exist on the unceded, traditional territories of the Katzie (q̓ic̓əy̓) and Kwantlen (qʼʷa:n̓ƛʼən̓) First Nations who are the original caretakers and stewards of these lands and waters. This statement is only a small part of my ongoing responsibility and commitment to listening, learning, and engaging with the process of truth and reconciliation.
