About Emily

You don’t have to have it all together to begin. If you’re holding everything in place but can’t remember the last time you actually exhaled — anxious, burnt out, grieving, or just disconnected from yourself — you’re exactly who I love to work with.

I’m Emily (she/her), a Registered Clinical Counsellor in North Vancouver. I work with individuals and couples, and I’m not the blank, nodding stranger you might be picturing. I show up as a whole, warm human, because I think that’s part of what makes it safe enough for you to do the same.

Before I trained as a therapist, I spent years guiding people through the backcountry, where I watched the same thing happen again and again: when a space stops asking people to perform, they settle. They soften, open up, and remember they’re stronger and more connected than they’d given themselves credit for. Creating those conditions — where you can slow down enough that your own capacity comes back online — is still the heart of how I work.

I came to people through ecosystems. A background in biology and environmental science shaped how I see you: not as a problem to be fixed, but as part of something larger — your relationships, your work, your identity, the world around you. My approach is relational, trauma-informed, nature-based, and feminist. I also offer Walk & Talk sessions outdoors, and I welcome the harder-to-place feelings, like climate grief and eco-anxiety.

I see clients in person in North Vancouver and virtually across BC — including rural and remote communities where the right support can be hard to find.
Finding the right fit matters. I offer a free 20-minute consultation so we can meet, with no pressure either way. Whenever you’re ready, I’d be glad to hear from you.
