About Heather
Seeking help for mental health can look differently for different people so Heather’s focus is on the needs of the individual. She works to create an open therapeutic relationship that is founded on unconditional acceptance. Heather’s practice is also founded in evidence based Cognitive Behavior Therapy. which looks at the relationship between our emotions, our thoughts and our behaviors and how they are interrelated. She works with clients to help overcome challenges by building new coping strategies to address their underlying concerns. Heather ensures that the counseling environment is inclusive for all people including LGBTQ2+ and indigenous peoples.
Heather received her Master of Education in Counseling Psychology in 2011 from the University of British Columbia and has been working as a counselor at Pemberton Secondary School counseling children, youth and building mental health supports for their families.
