About Jennifer

Hi! I’m Jen (she/her).

I specialize in youth and teen counselling. I am caring, intuitive, empathic, and passionate about supporting clients through their healing journeys and personal growth. I recognize the importance of connection, safety, and trust within the therapeutic relationship and hold a space of warmth, openness, respect, non-judgment, and acceptance. I have over 20 years of combined experience as a youth worker, middle and secondary teacher, school counsellor, and Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC).

I primarily work with youth/tweens, adolescents, young adults and parents with the multitude of challenges and transitions that they face. I support clients through a humanistic, holistic, person-centered, and family-centered approach.

As a BIPOC therapist, queer-affirming counsellor, and 2SLGBTQIA+ ally, I offer anti-oppression psychotherapy, with anti-colonial and anti-racist views to support empowerment-centred change. I see, validate, and acknowledge the complexities of race immigration/refugee status, indigeneity, class, gender, sexuality, disability, age, and spirituality. I bring forth inclusive, non-judgmental therapy to all, and provide a safe space for openness for everyone.

I offer a custom approach for each of my clients. I make getting to know you and your individual needs my focus.

My specialities include:

Counselling with youth, tweens, teens, young adults and parents
BIPOC Counselling
Maternal mental health, including parenting support
Life transitions
Personal development & growth
Self-esteem
Stress & anxiety
Grief & loss
