About Joanna
I understand that life can be challenging and overwhelming at times. As a Registered Clinical Counsellor, I seek to create a safe and supportive environment that promotes greater self-awareness and change, as well as increased well-being. I take a person-centered and strengths based approach to my work. I believe that counselling should be a collaborative process where the counsellor and client work together to find a solution using evidence-based techniques and interventions.
I have experience with a variety of presenting issues including: anxiety, depression, life transitions, relational conflict, career development, living with an injury or illness, coping with stress, diagnosis of a life-threatening illness, caregiver fatigue, occupational stress, post-partum and parenting challenges, as well as finding purpose and meaning in life. Since 2017, I have been working primarily with individuals and families impacted by cancer in a health care setting.
I hope to use my education, skills, and experience to assist you in achieving a greater sense of mental, emotional, social, and spiritual well-being.
