About Josie
Currently accepting new clients. I often work with those who struggle with trauma history, depression and anxiety. Together, we will work on growing greater stability, support you in understanding, processing, and reducing anxiety associated with your past experiences, and empowering change for your future. Sessions aim to leave you feeling grounded, with a greater sense of confidence and control. I help individuals explore how their experiences have impacted them, and how we can reduce the pain of the symptoms they experience today through evidence-based practices.
I work to guide you through use of EMDR, Trauma-Focused CBT if you are a youth or parent seeking therapy for your child, along with behavioural therapies and mindfulness. My work is based in knowledge that you are the expert in your life, and I’m here to bring effective techniques to support you.
I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor, and Canadian Certified Counsellor. I hold a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a focus in Counselling & Human Development. My work experience prior to becoming an RCC includes working with Fraser Health Authority, MCFD, Foundry BC, and Crisis Lines across Canada.
I offer services to clients located in British Columbia through secure virtual sessions, and for clients located in the Greater Victoria Region, I offer in-person counselling at a warm and welcoming office space in North Park Village, called Empowering Health Clinic. This office space is where I am proud of operate in-person services and work alongside a team of skilled clinicians.
