About Laura
My main areas of interest are the mental side of performance and mental health and wellness within performance settings. In addition to being a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC), I am a professional member of the Canadian Sport Psychology Association (CSPA) and have worked in the field of sport as a mental performance consultant (MPC) for over 25 years. I am also a chartered professional coach (Ch.P.C.) with Coaches of Canada and a Learning Facilitator for the National Coaching Certification Program (NCCP). I apply my knowledge to sport, exercise, health, performing arts, and business contexts through my private practice, Mind in Motion Consulting. I have worked with a number of national, provincial and regional sport organizations in this capacity providing support as a MPC at Olympic, Paralympic and Special Olympic World Games, World Championships, and Canada and National Games. Additionally, I am an associate director and associate faculty member at City University of Canada in Vancouver and previously was also a faculty member at Douglas College in the Department of Sport Science and an adjunct professor in the Theatre Department at the University of British Columbia. Finally, I provide mentorship and supervision to mental performance consultants and clinical counsellors who are interested in working within the context of sport and performance. .
