About Luisa

People I have worked with have described feeling disconnected, invalidated, and powerless after experiencing trauma and injustice. Some have felt stuck and overwhelmed in the process of reconnecting with themselves, their communities, and in navigating dominant culture. I support clients in processing their experiences and deepening their understanding of themselves and their relationships. I affirm clients’ needs and desires and value reciprocity and collaboration. Honoring clients’ knowledge, I invite them to co-create safety and exercise their self-determination.

I offer a transparent, caring, and nonjudgmental environment. I am specialized in working with people who have experienced trauma, including sexual violence, experiences of ongoing oppression, and immigration. I have experience working with adolescents and adults, immigrants, BIPOC, and people in the LGBTQI2S+ communities. I accept CVAP, and also offer services in Spanish.

Getting support and processing trauma takes courage. My practice includes an integration of client-centered, EMDR, narrative, mindfulness, harm-reduction, and art therapy approaches that are situated in feminist, anti-oppressive and social justice principles. Together we can explore issues and experiences that are getting in the way of your individual and collective healing.

I am currently not accepting new counselling clients; however, there are a few folks in my practice who are available, please feel free to connect with me if you have any questions!
