About Lydia

I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor with over 20 years of experience in public service and community-based settings, including work in mental health, substance use, and complex care environments. I offer counselling for individuals navigating life transitions, relationship challenges, emotional distress, and questions of identity, meaning, and direction.

My approach is collaborative and grounded in respect, curiosity, and care. I aim to create a space where people feel safe to slow down, reflect, and make sense of their experiences in a way that feels meaningful and manageable. I draw from a range of evidence-based approaches, including attachment-informed, relational, and somatic perspectives, and adapt my work to each person’s goals and preferences.

I have a particular interest in supporting individuals experiencing burnout, stress, or disconnection, as well as those working through changes in relationships or life circumstances. I also bring an awareness of how larger systems and cultural contexts can affect wellbeing. I strive to offer a counselling space that is affirming and welcoming of people of all gender identities, sexual orientations, neurotypes, cultures, and lived experiences.

I currently see clients in person at Thrive Collective in Chilliwack, as well as through online sessions within British Columbia.

Approach / What to Expect

Counselling with me is a collaborative process. Some people come with a clear goal, while others begin by simply wanting things to feel different. We can work at a pace that feels right for you, with space to reflect, build insight, and develop practical ways of navigating challenges.
