About Mary

My name is Mary Fletcher. I am a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) based in North Vancouver. I have been working with children, youth and their families on the North Shore for over 25 years and in a counselling capacity for over 15 years. I have a Master’s degree in Counselling Psychology conferred from the University of British Columbia in 2007, as well as Bachelor of Education and Bachelor of Arts degrees, also from UBC. I recently completed my Level 1 team Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) training.

As a counsellor I draw on my years of experience working with children, teens and parents. I am passionate about helping young people learn more about themselves, identify their strengths and areas for growth. I want to support young people by helping them gain the skills and tools they need to handle a wide array of challenges. This often includes work in the areas of growth mindset, self-regulation and communication. I am also comfortable supporting others with their social and emotional needs including healthy relationships, self esteem and anxiety.

At the core of my practice is a heartfelt commitment to creating a safe space that is nurturing, free from judgment and full of unwavering support for my clients. I always recognize that each person’s journey is unique and I draw from a diverse toolkit of therapeutic approaches, ensuring that every client’s experience is tailored to their unique needs.
