About Michael

Living with illness can touch every part of life—physically, emotionally, and practically. Whether you’re adjusting to a new diagnosis, managing ongoing symptoms, or navigating the long-term realities of chronic illness or injury, you are not alone. Therapy offers space to strengthen coping skills, support your daily functioning, and develop sustainable habits that align with your health needs.

Together, we’ll explore your priorities, clarify your goals, and consider which supports may best serve your well-being. My approach integrates counselling and psychotherapy, health coaching, and mindfulness-based strategies—adapted to your unique context and capacities.

With over 20 years of experience as a therapist, educator, and researcher—and as a former professor of Health Behavior Science—I bring both clinical expertise and real-world understanding of what it means to live with health challenges. After each session, you’ll receive a personalized summary with tools and resources tailored just for you.

I offer online therapy throughout British Columbia and in-person appointments in Sidney, BC. Please visit my website to learn more and book a free consultation.
